almost destroyed by the 2003 earthquake.

it sits directly on the san andreas fault line.

for years it has continued on, damaged and neglected.

the most beautiful mission,

in my humble opinion.

it is the only surviving mission not restored.

the painted walls are fragile and of such beauty.

sometimes it takes ruin

to make things whole.
