Immensely and intensely popular, and I have never had the fortitude to look at such things. I know this reinforces an alienation from one's time, but that price, as you say, is exacted only later. Defense has its cost. :)
philippe garner and david alan mellor put on an exhibition at the photographers gallery in london, 2006. they discovered there during that show, an unvoiced set of motives, feelings and impressions that people has made part of their "inner world" after this film came out. david hemmings...was he part of the reason i went directly to london to live ! thanks for dropping bylaurent. i intend to buy the book. there are never before published stills of the making of this iconic film.
Blow Up changed my relationship with movies. I became part of it while watching and couldn't put into words why. I can see it again and again and the way it draws me in changes every time. Fascinating. Thanks for posting this and pointing to the new book! And thanks for your blog, I enjoy it :)
