I would think this to be an extraordinarily fortunate portrait to have, simply of an acquaintance; and I selfishly regret that it is discernibly of a known person, because of its powerful positioning of the subject; because I would hold it up to anybody and just ask, "Now, what is it that you do not wish him to understand?"
